Downtown Dry is a directory of rooms that pour something worth ordering without the proof. 1,927 of them so far, across 459 cities. It started because finding one used to take an evening of phone calls.
Our mission
Downtown Dry was born from personal experience. My own run through alcohol use disorder, and more than a year of sobriety on the other side of it, made one gap obvious: millions of people are choosing recovery, mindful living, or just a night out that does not end in a hangover, and finding a room that serves them well was still absurdly hard.
So I built the thing I wanted. The directory now carries 1,927 checked venues across 459 cities, from fully alcohol-free bars and mocktail lounges to traditional kava rooms and legal delta THC venues.
It is more than a list. The guides, the city pages and the shop are meant to work together: somewhere to go tonight, something to read before you get there, and something worth drinking when you would rather stay in.
The vision is simple. Good nights out should be available to everyone, whatever their relationship with alcohol.

Kava and delta THC both impair motor skills and judgment. Never drive after either. Kava can interact with medications and affect liver function; THC effects can last two to eight hours. Talk to a clinician first if you have a medical condition, take prescriptions, or are pregnant or nursing. Start low, and drink them somewhere you are comfortable.
